As the Co-Founder and CEO of Nevada Hemp Company Nate Rasner may run the day to day operations of the company, but his passion wasn't always Hemp. Nate was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada, where upon graduating from high school he was hired as a firefighter. Working in the fire service Nate eventually rose through the ranks, notably spending 10 years as a Fire Captain before ultimately being promoted to Battalion Chief where he ran the day to day operations of three fire stations. After 21 years of serving Northern Nevada Nate retired from the fire service in 2020. So, how did he get into Hemp?
Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, Co-Founder Amber O'Connor decided she wanted to learn more about the skin after experiencing skin issues throughout her childhood. This decision led her to enroll in beauty academy and specialize in aesthetics. After graduating from beauty academy in 2010, Amber obtained her license as an esthetician and began working for Aveda, a company renowned for their holistic approach to body, hair, and skin care products. After spending seven years at Aveda and gaining valuable knowledge and experience in a plant-based approach to skin care, Amber set off on her own, opening her first aesthetic/ skin care business in 2017. Currently, Amber is proud owner and sole proprietor of Reno Skin Lab, where she is known as "South Reno's Waxing & Skin Care Expert". So where did her Hemp journey begin?
Together, Amber and Nate felt like they were not doing enough to help others, and they wanted a purpose, but they weren't sure what that purpose was yet until God presented his plan in the form of the 'Women in Cannabis Expo'. Amber and Nate have known about Hemp and hemp-derived CBD, but it wasn't until Amber was asked to help work and support a handful of 'Women in Cannabis Expo' events throughout the country, that they realized Hemp's true potential.

"My friend and the CEO of 'Women in Cannabis Expo', asked me to travel with her to help facilitate the expos, which are meant to help bring women together to network to their fullest potential. At these expos I was privileged to meet and listen to doctors, scientists, and CBD industry experts talk about the groundbreaking research developments in Hemp. I learned a valuable lesson working the expos, and that's you can truly get help without getting high."
In early 2022 Nate & Amber started researching, compiling data on cannabinoids and terpenes in the National Library of Medicine, and they started testing several cannabinoids and terpene profiles on willing friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances. Countless hours of research and development led to the company forming in November of 2022, and ultimately to their first product launch in November 2023.
"When I left the fire service I lost a sense of purpose, but what we're doing at Nevada Hemp Co. gives me that sense of purpose. It's all about helping others, whether it's through my service as a firefighter, or trying to reach those who can benefit most from Hemp. Just like our motto says, "Driven by a desire to help others", we want to make a difference in people's lives with our products, our education platform, and our message."
